Delivery – The DFO Way
Yes, we deliver. No, we won’t biff it over your fence.
We’re based in Napier, Hawke’s Bay and deliver across North Island Metro Areas — so whether you’re in Auckland, Wellington, Tauranga or somewhere in between, we’ve got you covered.
Where We Deliver
Our furniture flies (well, trucks) out to:

Napier & Hastings (Weekdays to our local legends)

Gisborne, Wairoa and Central Hawke's Bay (once a week if all goes well)

Auckland & the rest of the North Island metro spots we deliver every fortnight (or sooner). Rural or hard-to-reach? Flick us a message first – we’ll see what magic we can pull. BUT its likely to cost you an arm and half a leg!
South Island 😢
It's not that we don't like you, it's just that our trucks don't like ferrys. Frankly, it costs more that our clearance furniture costs to deliver. So at this stage, we do not deliver to the South Island.
How Delivery Works
Pop your address into the delivery calculator on the product or cart page and boom — your exact delivery cost appears. Magic.
We use 'Efficient Movers & Storage' as our freight partner. These guys are a little old school, so no flash tracking apps, but give them a call and they will track it down and give you an update.
LOCAL DELIVERIES: Picking Your Delivery Date
You’ll pick your preferred delivery date at checkout. If it’s greyed out, it’s booked solid — we’re good, but we’re not time-travellers.
Didn’t choose a date? No worries. We’ll slot you in within 24 to 48 hours and let you know. Sometimes delays happen (weather, traffic, rogue goats on the road) — we’ll keep you in the loop.
NORTH ISLAND WIDE DELIVERIES: We pick your Delivery Date
The Efficient team gathers a few goods together before loading up the trucks and tiki touring around the North Island. This is generally around 6 to 10 working days - but someone will give you a call and lock it in.
Want to change your date?
Email us at least 24 hours before delivery. No last-minute flaking, please — our trucks don’t turn on a dime.
Once It’s On The Truck…
Risk is all yours once the goods are on the move. We’ll deliver to the address you gave us — so triple-check it’s right. If it’s wrong and the order comes back? You’re footing the redelivery bill.
We’re not liable for theft, loss, or damage after it’s been delivered. So maybe don’t leave that new lounge sitting on the front lawn overnight. If you do want it tucked away somewhere, pop a note in the 'Delivery Notes' and the Efficient crew will do their best to sort for you.
Delivery Crew Info
We work with trusted delivery partners who know how to handle furniture with care. Here’s what you’ll get:

A phone call 30–60 mins before they arrive (so you can put pants on)
Standard delivery means:

Two delivery legends max

No climbing fences or scaling balconies

No more than 2 flights of stairs
-
No deliveries that take longer than 20 mins

No squeezing trucks into goat tracks or garden paths
Need special treatment?
Let us know. We’ll do our best — extra charges may apply for extra drama.
If you're not home or answering your phone during the delivery window, you may be charged for a redelivery. Fair’s fair.
Tricky Locations
If your place is a delivery nightmare (think: no access, tiny alley, or a risk of furniture vanishing into thin air), we reserve the right to cancel delivery. You can always book your own courier, but you take full responsibility for any hiccups.
Other Fine Print

No deliveries to PO Boxes or Parcel Lockers – this is furniture, not fan mail.

All deliveries need a signature at the door.

If your order is undeliverable after 2 attempts or 21 days, we may cancel and refund it (minus delivery & handling costs).
Delays? Blame the Ports, Not Us
We aim for speedy service, but shipping delays do happen — ports, weather, customs, etc. We’ll keep you updated but can’t offer refunds for minor delays. Thanks for rolling with us.
